Finalist in Greenway Art Prize 2021.
To explore the visual complexity of the swale, where the pace of runoff water is slowed through channels, grasses, native vegetation and rocks, I used the unique properties of cold wax medium and oil paint to build up layers and textures, scraping back into some areas to reveal underneath colours and allowing the transparency of the medium to filter the light.
