WIMMERA SERIES 6 – ST MARY’S LAKE (Suzy’s view) by Suzy Strout
St Mary’s Lake in the Wimmera, more often than not has no water in it…..but this time, as we drove around it, it was full and beautifully picturesque, with Mt Arapiles in the background of most every view.
For this painting, I wanted to simplify the shapes and colours I had just painted in #5 and play with a more fauvist style. It was challenge to not get caught in detail.
