I am working on a series looking at the flat, dry, semi-desert and farming areas of the Wimmera in western Victoria, especially in and around Mt Arapiles. Memories of family picnics at the base and scrambling to the top of Mt Arapiles, where the cool updrafts fanned us as we caught our breath and admired the views of Mitre Rock – “Our rock”.
